I Am Important!: A ‘phenomenally important’ book to help children know they matter in this age of digital devices
Hey parents, I know you’re busy. You’re running a household, trying to get work done, organizing things for the family. You’re on the phone and computer a fair bit. Me too.
But here’s the thing: our children are meaning-making machines. They’re watching us, and they’re making meaning of why we aren’t always paying them attention when they want attention. Research shows that nearly one-third of children feel unimportant when their parents are using smartphones. These feelings come from thoughts like “I’m not important“, which – if left unchallenged – can turn into negative self-esteem beliefs that can limit a child for the rest of their lives.
That’s why I wrote this children’s book “I Am Important!“. Because I know that children learn through the power of story. This book was written with a little bit of humor and a whole lot of love to help children learn that they are intrinsically important on the inside no matter what is going on outside of them. Please read this book with your child, and let them know how important they are to you.
Praise for I Am Important!
This book is exactly what every busy parent needs to take time to read with their children.
